Our Values

Self-employment should have perks

You didn't start a business to work harder than you did in a job. You did it for freedom, flexibility, and maybe the chance to do things your way. I'm here to help you actually get that... not just survive, but enjoy it. If your business isn't working for you, what's the point?

1

Your business matters to me

This isn't just a transaction. I actually care whether this works for you.

I'll pay attention. I'll notice when something's off. I'll celebrate your wins like they're mine, because honestly, they kind of are.

2

I'll tell you the truth

I'm not going to blow smoke up your arse. If something's not working, I'll say so. If you're about to make a decision I think is a mistake, I'll tell you. You can disagree (I won't take it personally), it's your business. But you'll always know where I stand.

3

If I don't know it, I'll find it out

I'm a generalist. I know a lot about a lot. But I don't know everything, and I won't pretend to. What I will do is figure it out. I've got years of experience, a brain that loves a problem, and a network of brilliant people I can call on. One way or another, we'll get you an answer.

Why is it called Girl Friday?

The name has history... not all of it great.

It's an old-fashioned term, and it was always used for women. Often dismissively.

The implication was that you were helpful but not important.

Behind the scenes, not in charge.

But I like what it actually describes:

someone versatile, reliable, and quietly essential.

The person who makes things work.

That's what I do. That's what my team does.

So yeah... Girl Friday. It fits.

That Girl Friday Business Support - Jess

The name came from my mum.

I'd been freelancing for a while... helping businesses with a bit of everything. Websites, marketing, ops, strategy, whatever they needed.

I was good at it, but I had no idea what to call what I did.

One rainy Sunday, sat in a soft play while my kids burned off energy, I went on a bit of a rant to my mum about it.

"I know what I do. I know I'm good at it. But I don't know what it's called."

She just shrugged and said: "In my day, you'd have been called a Girl Friday."

I'd never heard the term. She explained: the person in the office who keeps everything running.

The one who knows where things are, gets stuff done, and somehow holds it all together, without the big job title.

And I thought: that's it.

Let's work together
